Ana-Louise Franz has a background in cognitive science, experimental psychology, and forensic psychology, with a focus on the ways that psychology is intricately embedded in law and the justice system in the United States. Using modern methods of statistical analysis, she has worked with a variety of populations and research designs. At Fillichio & Hastings, she has conducted in person and remote focus group and mock trial research studies, post-trial interviews, and assisted in jury selection.
Before joining Fillichio & Hastings in 2024, Ana-Louise was a researcher at the Einstein College of Medicine where she conducted in-depth neuropsychological and clinical examinations to measure and analyze cognitive change in older adults. As a graduate student, she interned at Gracie Square Psychiatric Hospital and worked in the volunteer department at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC). Her thesis research focused on how different populations experience moral stimuli.
